From my past 6 years of experience of my travel in BMTC,I think i am elegible to write this stuff here..."how to travel in bmtc..in fact prey a seat in a bmtc"..
First of all there are so many constraints and let me explain you all the factors and how to find solutions to those.
-->Are you boarding an empty bus?
or
-->A fully loaded one?
Empty Bus contains many more such as
-->From where(the place in fact) you are boarding it.
-->The time you are boarding it.
-->The type of people around you
From the place u r boarding it.This is one of the main factors as the place where you are boarding maybe an empty nandini layout busstand where you can launch yourself into the door any time or majestic busstand where the last guy getting out from the bus however patient he is literally becomes one..wink..As I said,in places like majestic, reservation, booking a seat with kerchiefs never work. You need to "earn" your seat.As soon a sthe bus comes if you notice your bus you should never ever run towards that bus..
coz 1)it will definetely propel other people to run with you.
2)The new buses are automated and unless its a volvo, the driver never opens it(I guess sometimes they enjoy the scene where passengers plead for him to open the "door")
Just get yourself into a position, make calculations and the approximate place where the bus actually stops.Even though its a yard away, silently take long strides and make sure you are on the top 10 list to climb.(P.S-->One big safety measure is that swarm your hands frequently around your pocket if you are not sensitive..:P)
The time you are boarding it
The time also matters dearly. For example a 7o clock maybe a peak tome or a "an actually nothing" time.Coz people travelling to marthalli have thier peak times from 7-8 only.Coicidently the buses that are "released" to them at that point of time is very less.So either follow the option solutions or board it after 8 or 9 or"come early"..
The type of people around you
If the bus which you are boarding contains 75% ladies, and the other 20% contains "after 60's" never actually try on opting to become the number one in boarding or so..and neevr expect bangalore ladies to give u a "maf" if you touch them or stamp them. Now this also depends..coz who knows they might enjoy it too..Anyways I remember an instance where i had catch up bus frm kalasipalyam to our college.Normal days,i just needn't explain u guys how stinky it can be.But rainy seasons were were almost like seasoned atletes..the tripple jump(3 big jumps and a long jump..whatever they call it anyways..)i ran to catch my bus crossing so many hurdles.Sensored ones include cow,cow dung..and anyways what not to tell..sorry guys..rainy days everything mixes up..and its just a black shit.So you just make up your mind and calculate 'Oh,not more than 23 steps to cover up pretty big distance..in fact it so happened that with great difficulty i launched up a bus just to find out that I had stepped in the wrong shoes(in fact chappals)..baaprey..I heard what I shld not have heard for years..Guys People in market--They hate if you are wearing a shoe..They think according to me is an attitude problem..So there it goes..also depends on the type of people..
Some of the other common factors include..
Whether you are boarding up the normal ones or the vajra ..as the later ones are never occupied..However because of bangalores hot weather..competation has spurred there too..
Now the questions starts how to prey your seat if the bus is already loaded.
Some of the simple steps are..
1.Listen and observe each persons carefully.(This includes what they talk..personal or bullshit..coz tht might reveal where they stay and thier preferred point of getting down)
2.Never ever stand nearby a person who is well settled listening to his ipod..he has boarded a perfect bus tht takes right to his place(which will be his last stop)
3.The passenger who peeks outside often is always right prey.Be very close to him.Act as if you are being pushed frequently and the seat is yours when the chap goes off.
Anyways in our place people(udupi) are not that fond of seat as
"There are lots of bus..timely."
Also they infact call the ladies or an old person and offer seat..(humanity level with town people is always higher than city people)
Anways till now i have lost my mp3 player in shivajinagar..(while performiong this stunt tht too with my earplugs on..confidence yes..overconfidence naa..)teaches u so many things in fact.I have also lost my jeans and chunk of meat during this process once as my pant mysteriously caught up the door and i was dragged by the flow of people).Anyways play safe guys.I am not responsible for any kirik stuff tht happens to u due to this...
Donno how ...but jus love travelling.any where..any mode..life is a big journey.
**Any cooments..post it..
